What is Wish4?
The Wish4 website is mainly 2 things;
An online toy shop where you can buy single or multiple items for delivery to your home or place of choice.
An online resource for everything concerning a child’s birthday party or function where you can list all the party details, create a wish list, link to the venue and even play games.
So can I just visit the online shop and buy a toy?
Sure, although we do have much more to offer - you can just buy a toy with your debit or credit card as you would at any other type of on-line shop.
Why should I list my party?
This is where we are really useful. You can gain lots of benefits by listing your party on Wish4, and your guests will really appreciate all of the extra information available.
You can list the party venue, the party date and time, maybe the theme of the party if it is fancy dress or what the guests should wear if it is an activity party for instance.
You will be able to provide the venue detail such as the address, directions and facilities.
If you have booked a birthday party at a participating venue, such as a soft play centre your guests will able to look at the venues Wish4 web page and also link through to the venues own website if they have one.
How do my guests confirm their attendance?
This is a nice added benefit. Forget the phone calls and worrying about keeping a list. Just check out the replies on your personal party page.
When should I list the party on the website?
For your guests to fully benefit from the features of the Wish4 service you need to create your party listing BEFORE you send out the birthday invitations. You will see that this generates a party password code which you should enter on the birthday invitation. The invitation explains the Wish4 service to your guests and the code allows them to access your party listing.
What else can I do?
Your child can create and personalise their own party page. They can upload photos, list their interests and post messages on The Wall, they can even play a selection of fun games.
What is ‘The Wall’?
The Wall is an interactive message board on their personalised party page where they can post messages with those friends who have been given the access code on the birthday invitation.
What about my child’s personal security and ‘The Wall’?
The Wall has a facility for your invited guests and you/your child to post short messages; it isn’t a live chat room and is open for you to view at all times. It is only accessible to those with the password party code.
You might like to use it to let your guests know about any changes to the party etc. They can also use it to confirm their attendance or otherwise.
I see that there is a Wish List facility. What is it?
Although you don’t have to create a wish list, your party guests will really appreciate this easy way of buying a birthday present.
The birthday boy or girl can browse the on-line toy shop and pick a selection of toys and gifts that they might love to receive and list them on a wish list. It’s really easy and just takes a single click.
Why should we create a wish list, isn’t it a bit cheeky?
You don’t have to create a wish list but our experience shows that many of your guests will really appreciate it. It is just so simple and stress free, and there are plenty of added benefits.
OK, so what are the benefits of a wish list?
For the birthday boy or girl they get to list presents that they really want and will appreciate. They can even send out their ‘thank you’ letters or email automatically to those who have bought from the wish list.
But the main benefit is for the people/guests who want to buy a birthday present for the party. They get to easily choose a present that they know will be appreciated and in the price range they want to spend. There’s no need for the usual ‘discussion in the school playground’ about what the child is ‘in to’. They save money by getting free gift wrapping and they also get free delivery to the party venue, just in time for the party. All this can be done in seconds from the comfort of their home. Simple!
Why do we have to list a minimum level of items?
In order for us to be able to offer free delivery we combine all items purchased for a party into one bulk delivery a couple of days before the party date. To give your guests plenty of choice it is best to list as many items as possible (within reason!).
What happens to any wish lists presents that are bought?
The purchaser can choose normal – paid for – delivery to their own address if they choose but the best bit is our bulk delivery option.
Individual purchases by your guests are gift wrapped separately, along with any personal messages such as who it is from and then bulk delivered with all other presents to the party venue in time for the party. The presents will be presented to the birthday child at their party.
What happens if an item is out of stock at the time of the party?
In the unlikely event that we are not able to fulfil an order that has already been purchased we may substitute it with another item that is still remaining on the wish list (of equal or greater value). This means that the birthday child will still get a present that they originally wanted.
How do my guests visit and view my pages?
When you create your Wish4 personal pages / wish list you will automatically create a 6 digit code that is the password to your pages. You should write this code on the birthday invitations you send out. Alternatively you can use the Wish4 email facility and simply email the Wish4 details and password code out. You might want to do this for friends and relatives who won’t be invited to the party for some reason but would still like to chat and interact on The Wall or perhaps use the wish list to easily buy a present.
What if I have distant relatives or friends who can’t be invited to the party?
Simple. Use the wish4 email facility to automatically send all the details about your Wish4 pages and wish list out to them. Hopefully you can catch up with them on The Wall.
Tell me about the Party Venues.
Wish4 has entered into agreement with participating venues to operate the Wish4 scheme. They have their own directory page on the website where they can list their facilities, special offers as well as their address, map and directions to their venue, making it easy for your guests to attend the party. They also have a link to their own website.
What does my venue do before and during the party?
The participating venues will provide you with their birthday invitations for you to give out along with details of the Wish4 service. If you decide to list your party on the website you should include the password access code with the invitations when you give them out to your friends.
During the party they will ensure the birthday boy / girl receives any presents that have been bought off the wish list, all nicely gift wrapped.
What if I change the party time / date / venue etc?
If you have to make changes to the time or place of the party you can easily do this on your personal party pages. You could even email the changes to your friends or use The Wall to tell them. If you have a wish list in operation then as long as the changes are before the cut off date for delivery then everything can proceed with the new details automatically. If the changes are too late the single bulk delivery will have been sent as arranged to the original venue and you will have to contact them to arrange collection yourself.
What if my venue isn’t listed or I’m having a party at home?
No problem. You can still list all the party details, and where you are having the party, maybe at home or in a village hall. Your child can still interact and post messages on The Wall. If you operate a wish list as well, you and your guests can still benefit from the free gift wrapping and delivery if there are enough items on the wish list. The single bulk delivery will be made to the place of your choice in time for the party. You can even print out your own invitations.
What about invitations?
Listing a party at a venue that doesn’t provide invitations or at your own venue?
As long as you have a printer you can print out our own specially designed invitations that will also include full details of the party and the wish4 service and password access code. You can also email your invitations.
I’m not having a party; can I still have a wish list?
Of course. I’m sure your friends and especially relatives might appreciate knowing what presents you might like. A wish list could be especially useful to those who live a long way away or even abroad in another country. Just create a party page (without a party venue) - you can still play the games and use The Wall to message each other. Once created you can use the email facility to tell your relatives and friends, they can buy off the wish list individually and choose where they want the item delivered.
What about other events or celebrations?
You can use the Wish4 pages and wish list for any function or event you want. Just create your party page and personalise it and tell your friends!
